Celebrity Skincare, Worth The Hype?

FENTY SKIN (Rihanna)

Fenty Beauty filed a new trademark "Fenty Skin" on March 25, 2019. The registration listed "medicated and non-medicated skincare, soap, body care and personal care products (excluding color cosmetics, perfume, and other fragrance-only products), and related accessories such as kits, tools, and applicators."

Launch Date: Last week the brand announced on IG the release of two lip care products, but has yet to announce any additional products.

Pro Kiss'r Lip Loving Scrubstick: Described as, "ultimate scrubstick that exfoliates lips quick and easy with apricot seeds".

Pro Kiss'r Luscious Balm: Described as, "a nourishing balm made with shea and mango butters that has special doe-foot to keep lips smooth."

The Verdict: Fenty Beauty has an extensive makeup line that's already proven itself to be successful so I would definitely give the skincare a try.

KYLIE SKIN (Kylie Jenner)

Product lineup includes Foaming Face Wash $(24), Walnut Face Scrub ($22), Vanilla Milk Toner ($22), Vitamin C Serum ($28), Face Moisturizer ($24) and an Eye Cream ($20). The full set goes for $125.

Launch Date: May 22, 2019

The Verdict: Kylie's Lip Kit was insanely popular, not something I've tried but the fact that it made her the world's youngest billionaire (beating out Mark Zuckerberg) is pretty impressive. However, lipstick is vastly different than skincare. Ingredients have not been listed, but a walnut face scrub sounds concerning...wasn't everyone on the same page about physical exfoliants? I am not sure I would try this line.
