Best Drugstore Beauty Buys - They're All Under $15

Updated: May 15, 2019

After thorough research and a lot of trial and error here are my favorite makeup products that can be found at your local drugstore.

PRIMER

I thought primer was a waste of time until I tried this and saw how airbrushed my makeup looked and how long it stayed in place. It's hydrating, never pills, and it makes foundation application smooth and even. (Image: Target)

FOUNDATION

I typically stay away from foundation because I don't like heavy coverage or anything matte but I really liked this foundation. It offers extensive shade options that look natural and wear well without many touch-ups. (Image: Target)

Tinted Moisturizer: Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer SPF 20 ($9.99)

This has a light, creamy texture as well as SPF, retinol and antioxidants, so it kind of feels like a serum. It has lighter coverage than foundation but enough pigment to even skin tone and hide minor imperfections. (Image: Wal Mart)

HIGHLIGHTER

This is a pretty solid dupe for YSL's Touche Eclat click style pen. It has a brightening effect that works really well under eyes and doesn't crease easily. I don't recommend using it as a concealer on breakouts as it will highlight rather than conceal them. (Image: Target)

I always thought of Wet 'n Wild as a tween brand but this highlighter changed that. A lot of highlighters are being sold as sticks that can be applied directly to the skin but a lot of the cheaper versions like Maybelline's Master Strobing Stick don't have enough moisturizer so they dry out quickly and create a cake-y application. Wet 'n Wild's MegaGlo has mousse-like texture, subtle sheen and easy application. It's small sponge-tipped wand made it easy to use in areas I can't get to with highlighting sticks like corners of the eyes or lids. (Image: Target)

CONCEALER

A great option for concealing breakouts and dark under-eyes. Most products that claim to have antioxidants usually only contain a trace amount but this one actually has an effective amount. (Image: Target)

BLUSH

On the pricier side but I love it and the entire tube lasted over a year. It's a sheer gel so it has a shiny finish with a highlighter effect. I mix it with Glossier cloud paint which is more pigmented. For something cheaper but has a similar dewy effect try NYX's Rouge Cream Blush. (Image: Target)

Bronzer

I don't wear bronzer much outside of summer so I prefer a cheap option. This one is great because it actually looks like a natural tan and not muddy or too stark of a contrast. A little goes a long way. (Image: Target)

MASCARA

This is an amazing mascara. Out of every drugstore mascara I've tried (and that's a lot) this is the BEST. It has a very large brush, it's super easy to apply and all you need is two coats. It lengthens lashes and adds A LOT of volume. It never flakes or feels stiff. Rinses off easily with just soap and water. They also have a waterproof option if you prefer. (Image: Target)

LIPS

I bought this three times in the last year and hooked my sister. This is a lipgloss plumper (using natural plant oil) so it tingles a bit when you put it on and makes lips appear noticeably fuller. I loved this one so much that I decided to try the Sexy Mother Pucker XXL and was extremely disappointed, super thick and gloopy and sits on top of your lips very unnaturally. I suggest sticking with the original. (Image: Target)

Full disclosure, I am not the biggest lipstick gal so try this article if you are, but I really like Clinique's Almost Lipstick in Black Honey because it's more of a moisturized lip stain but it's also $20. Revlon Lip Butter in Sugar Plum is a great dupe because it gives subtle color, it's extremely moisturizing even after it wears off and it's half the price of Clinique's. (Image: Wal Mart)
