Beauty Products I Bought More Than Once in 2018

Updated: May 15, 2019

As an Accutane surviver, a living hell I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy, I'd consider myself more of a skincare than makeup junky. While the points I've racked up at Sephora may be cringeworthy they also deem me credible when it comes to finding a product I think is worth purchasing twice so I've rounded them all up for you, my 2018 list of beauty shit I can't quit.

SKINCARE

If you're family, a friend, or friend's mom then you've most likely experienced my (unsolicited) enthusiastic endorsement of the magic that is Paula's Choice. I use the Resist line religiously and highly recommend any product based on your skin type. This exfoliant, daytime moisturizer, nighttime moisturizer, antioxidant serum, and retinol have been my go-to's the past two years. If the price point is out of your budget they typically have deals or try the travel sizes before taking the plunge. For the bod, I recently discovered Glossier's body wash and it legit smells like the beach...in the best way. For body lotion I continually return to Dove's Cream Oil, it's exceptionally hydrating but not too greasy.

MAKEUP

My approach to makeup has always been a "no makeup makeup" look. I typically go for anything hydrating, liquid or sheer. I believe primers are supremely underrated and can be a game changer for keeping makeup on your actual face for longer than just your commute. I love Master Prime by Maybelline and Glossier's Priming Moisturizer both leave you on the dewy side. For foundations I like to mix shades and have been an avid fan of blending Nars tinted moisturizer with this one by Laura Mercier. I rarely branch out when it comes to tinted moisturizer bc my Nars and Laura combo is so damn good but I went out on a limb and tried Glossier's, a brand I thought might just be a lot of hype, but pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. I really like their skin tint for day (it's VERY light coverage-wise FYI), as well as the boy brow, blush and mascara. My favorite drugstore finds are Soap & Glory lip gloss, this gel blush by Pixie, and this Maybelline mascara. I also always keep a tube of Aquaphor on me at all times for lips, lashes, cuticles, really just about anything.

SUPPLEMENTS

2018 was the year of collagen supplements. If you don't know what it does or if it's for you then read this. Not convinced? Read this. I tried many but was most impressed with Fancy Formulas Collagen. It's seriously improved my skin's hydration during LA's winter months. I also have been religious about probiotics so if you struggle with digestion, regularity or any of that shit (literally) I really like this one from Whole Foods, just be sure to store it in the fridge. I've also been loving Four Sigmatic's Mushroom Coffee, it's made by a great group of Finnish guys and has a ton of benefits you can learn more about in this funny video.
